The first waterproof phone with fingerprints scanner appeared on sale in Japan
Japanese national mobile operator NTT DoCoMo started the realization of the new mobile waterproof phone of the Fujitsu Corporation – F-01A. The novelty is not only waterproof but also can scan the fingerprints with the help of the sensor AES171 of AuthenTec Company.

The waterproof phone F-01A operates under the Symbian operational system, is equipped with 3,5 inches wide format sensor display with resolution VGA, 5,2 mega pixel photo camera with automatic focus and built in GPS receiver supporting such services as Google Maps and Street View. F-01A waterproof phone also works with mobile payments system e-Wallet and receives digital television signal 1-Seg.

The corpus of the waterproof phone can endure being under water at the depth of 1 meter for the period of 30 minutes which complies with IpX5 and IPX7 standards. TouchStone technology provides additional scanner sensor protection due to triple coverage. Scanner AES1711 reads the information from the layer situated under the skin layer that provides more accuracy. According to designers the waterproof phone is very accurate and trustworthy and can scan almost any sample.
The waterproof phone is additionally protected by technologies that fight spoofing (false IP address usage) and standard comparison.
